Indianapolis Pain Management Specialists – Back and Neck Pain Relief Center of Indy

The Indianapolis pain management specialists here at Zionsville Chiropractic and Rehabilitation can help you reach your goals.

Our pain management treatment options are designed to treat chronic joint pain.  This can be in the form of back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and lower or upper limb pain.  Our number one goal in managing your pain is to help you get back to living a better quality of life.  This can be a life full of activity, enjoyment, and less of pain and struggle.

This requires a person’s time, dedication, and commitment to achieve the best possible results.

There are 3 ways to manage your pain:

1.       Non-Invasive Non Drug Indianapolis Pain Management (we’ll focus on this)

A.      Chiropractic Care – Rehabilitation – Physical Therapy

B.      Exercise – Stretching

C.      Nutrition

D.      Lifestyle Modification

E.       Massage

2.       Drugs

A.      Pain Relievers – Muscle Relaxers

B.      Anti-Depressants

3.       Invasive Pain Management

A.      Injections

B.      Back or Neck Surgery (should be last resort)

When searching for pain relief you should always start with the least invasive option.  Research has proven that chiropractic care is the absolute best choice when searching for back or neck pain relief.  A chiropractic physician can provide you with rehabilitation, exercise, stretching, nutrition, lifestyle modification, and wellness.  At this time a chiropractor is the only type of physician that can bring all the aspects of non-invasive non drug Indianapolis pain management to you.

Treatment Options to help Manage Your Pain:

Non-Invasive Non Drug:

Available at Zionsville Chiropractic and Rehabilitation:

Chiropractic Care:

This is the main service we offer here at Zionsville Chiropractic and Rehabilitation (ZCRC).  Chiropractic care works by restoring optimal joint and soft tissue function by way of chiropractic adjustments and myofascial release techniques.

Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy:

Another main service offered by the chiropractic physicians at ZCRC.  Rehabilitation is used in Indianapolis pain management to strengthen muscles that have become weak due to injury, accident, overuse, or repetitive use.

Our chiropractors have extensive post graduate education in rehabilitation and are board certified in physical therapy.

Other services offered at ZCRC include nutrition guidance, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle modification, and exercise therapy.

Drugs:

Over the Counter Drugs (OTC’s): Completely safe if used properly and in moderation.

-          Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil)

-          Aleve

-          Aspirin

Prescription Drugs: Can be dangerous and addictive if misused.

-          Oxycodone (Percocet)

-          Hydrocodone (Vicodin)

-          Morphine

Invasive Indianapolis Pain Management:

-          Injections (needle placed into the back or neck and medication is injected with a syringe to “block” the pain.)

-          Surgery – Should be last resort as sometimes the risks outweigh the benefits (spinal fusion, laminectomy, discectomy, disc replacement)

Your options for managing your pain vary from non-invasive non drug (chiropractic) to very invasive (surgeries).

You should always start with the least invasive option and completely exhaust your treatment options before moving onto surgery as surgery has the most amount of risk involved (anesthesia, pain getting worse, loss of joint function, loss of normal movement).

However, there are times when surgery gets pushed to the top of your treatment options.  If you’re experiencing any of the following please seek medical attention right away:

- inability to control bowl or bladder

- extreme weakness in the upper or lower extremity
